Thunderstorm watch continues overnight for southernmost Manitoba

A severe thunderstorm watch has ended for the City of Winnipeg, but is expected to continue into early Sunday morning for the following areas:
 
steinbach - st. adolphe - dominion city - vita - richer
morden - winkler - altona - emerson - morris
sprague - northwest angle provincial forest
brandon - carberry - treherne
killarney - pilot mound - manitou
melita - boissevain - turtle mountain provincial park
virden - souris.

Severe thunderstorms remain possible in southern Manitoba late Saturday evening, as an upper disturbance approaches from Saskatchewan/Montana, although the threat area is now confined to the southernmost parts of the province.
 
The main threats from these thunderstorms are expected to be large hail and damaging winds. Local rainfall amounts in excess of 50 mm are also possible.
